Airy San Francisco loft living room with soaring windows, modern concrete fireplace, natural oak built-ins, and Wassily accent chair — Nopa Loft interior design by Mokume Design Studio

NOPA Loft

San Francisco, CA
  • This sun-filled loft in San Francisco’s NOPA neighborhood reads like a quietly elevated European apartment. The narrow footprint is opened up by tall, multi-pane windows and double-height clerestories that flood the room with gorgeous light. The goal was to bring simplicity and sanctuary to the space.

The modest application of white walls and tile, warm oak elements, and honed concrete amplifies light and provides a cohesive, airy backdrop. The kitchen and bathroom millwork is visually pared-down but not boring, the fireplace is simply designed and sits effortlessly within the finely scaled furnishings to maintain visual breathing room.

The result is a composed, breathable urban retreat that balances Scandinavian design with Bay Area warmth.
