Hill Street Residence
San Francisco, CA-
This historic Victorian home was thoughtfully reimagined to reflect the cultural curiosity and layered character of the city itself. The renovation prioritized the preservation of original Victorian detailing — including ornate mouldings, trim, and period proportions — while introducing an eclectic mix of mid-century modern furniture, sculptural lighting, and vintage rugs sourced from local Bay Area antique shops.
Subtle spatial adjustments improved daylight, circulation, and the relationship between rooms while maintaining the Victorian home’s original proportions. Handcrafted millwork, softly textured arches, and a restrained paint palette create a calm architectural backdrop that allows vintage pieces and art to stand forward. Materials and furnishings were sourced from Bay Area artisans and makers wherever possible, supporting local craft while ensuring longevity and quiet refinement throughout the home.
